According to the data presented by an adviser of State Minister of National Development Planning on Layout and Maritime Affairs, Son Diamar, the electricity production rate in 2008 reached 581 Kwh/year, higher than Philippines (577 kwh/year), Laos (240 Kwh/year), Burma (124 Kwh/year) and Cambodia (80 Kwh/year).
The production rate is lower than Vietnam (702 Kwh/year), Thailand (2,252 Kwh/year), Malaysia (4,001 Kwh/year), Brunei Darussalam (8,102 Kwh/year) and Singapore (8.833 Kwh/year).
Average per capital power consumption in Indonesia reaches 515 Kwh/year, higher than Philippines (480 Kwh/year), Laos (197 Kwh/year), Myanmar (89 Kwh/year), and Cambodia (81 Kwh/year).
Power consumption rate in Indonesia is lower than Vietnam (553 Kwh/year), Thailand (2,103 Kwh/year), Malaysia (3,732 Kwh/year), Brunei Darussalam (7,105 Kwh/year) and Singapore (8,034 Kwh/year).
Given the fact, the plan to set up special economic zones must be prioritized.
