VIVAnews - The volume of business transaction between Indonesia and Brazil has increased by 100 percent compared to the previous period.
Several of Indonesia's exported commodities to Brazil are top-ranked compared to other exporting countries. The commodities include rubber, chocolate and textile fibre. Brazil has oil, gas, silver, gold, copper and lead.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his entourage, including ANTV television journalist Uni Z. Lubis, arrived at Brazilia, capital of Brazil, on 18 November, after flying aboard the presidential aircraft Garuda Indonesia.
The Indonesian delegation is expected to make use of the two-day visit to enhance partnership opportunities between the two countries. So far, the on-going cooperations include issues on trading, industry and services. "This time, the business community and those joining in this visit should try to build partnership on tourism and creative economy," said President Yudhoyono.
Brazil is superior regarding tourism. It benefits from the beauty of its nature. Its beaches are among world's greatest coasts.
President Yudhoyono is scheduled to visit Rio de Janeiro today, Nov 19. Several hours after his departure at 10.45am local time, Yudhoyono will be officially welcomed by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
The two heads of states are scheduled to sign a partnership agreement on science and technology, agriculture, energy and poverty eradication. Brazil is considered quite successful in eradicating poverty.
President Yudhoyono is also scheduled to visit the largest bio-ethanol industry in Brazil, situated in Ribeirao Prota.
President Yudhoyono will then proceed to Lima, Peru, to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit. President Yudhoyono will be accompanied by Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, State Secretary Hatta Radjasa, Foreign Affairs Minister Hasan Wirajuda, Agriculture Minister Anton Apriyantono, and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro.
