Keban Agung Power Plant to Operate in 2012

VIVAnews - Mulut Tambang Keban Agung power plant in South Sumatra valuing US$230 million in investment will be ready to operate in 2012.

Director General of Electricity and Energy Utilization J. Purwono said that the power plant with 2x125 Megawatt in capacity will use low calorie coal.

"The project construction is a part of the second phase of the 10,000 MW acceleration which involves the private sector. The additional power plant is constructed by private electricity company until 2018, reaching 15,221 MW," he said as quoted in the Energy and Mineral Resources' Website on Tuesday, July 7.

He stated that the project construction was an effort to handle the electricity in South Sumatra which has grown 11.3 percent within the past five years.
